Kahit Papaano

Little Servant of Christ…Still

I am Maria Cristina Sadia Vargas, little servant of Christ. I was born Filipino, proud of my kulay, kayumangging kaligatan. All things I do, “in nomine domini nostri Jesu Christi”. My heart’s desire, the work of my hands, is to see more people knowing, loving and serving Him. Till I hear my Master’s call, “Well done, good and faithful servant.”

Twenty eight years ago, I decided to follow Jesus.  Ten thousand and two hundred twenty days later, I tried Him and I found His promises are true
He’s everything He said that He would be.

And the life I live, I will live for Him solely.

I’m Older – Not Old

A Prayer As I Grow Older

“O Lord, You know I am growing older!

Keep me from closing my eyes to the fact.

Keep me from becoming a pest, a self – appointed sage with the annoying habit of thinking I must say something on every subject and on every occasion.

Keep my mind free from the repetition of past experiences and endless details. Seal my lips about my aches and pains.

I do not ask for improved memory, but for less cockiness about the memory of others. Teach me to admit that sometimes I am mistaken.

Make me sweeter and mellower as my age progresses. Let me never grow old – only older.

May it be said of me,

‘Though our  outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day.’

(2 Corinthians 4:16)”

Every morning, mercy’s new
Every morning, I will fix my eyes on You!
It’s day one of the rest of my life
It’s day one of the best of my life
And I’m marching on to the beat of a brand new drum
Yeah, here I come
The future has begun
Day one

What Cancer Can’t Do

till we see you again, Pnat

What Cancer Can’t Do
by Dan Richardson

Cancer is so limited…
It cannot cripple love,
It cannot shatter hope,
It cannot corrode faith,
It cannot eat away peace,
It cannot destroy confidence,
It cannot kill friendship,
It cannot shut out memories,
It cannot silence courage,
It cannot invade the soul,
It cannot reduce eternal life,
It cannot quench the Spirit,
It cannot lessen the power of the resurrection.

Amazing Grace!

If you were to make a list of your own, what songs would make the top 10?

CBN Asia Community Partners

Amazing grace!
How sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me
I once was lost but now am found,
Was blind but now I see

‘Twas grace that taught my heart to fear
And grace my fears relieved
How precious did that grace appear
The hour I first believed

Through many dangers, toils and snares
I have already come
‘Tis grace has brought me safe thus far
And grace will lead me home

The Lord has promised good to me
His Word my hope secures;
He will my shield and portion be,
As long as life endures

Yet, when this flesh and heart shall fail,
And mortal life shall cease,
I shall posess within the veil,
A life of joy and peace

When we’ve been there ten thousand years
Bright shining as the sun,
We’ve no less days to sing God’s praise
Than when we’ve first begun.

Let’s Go Fishing!

mornings at IlocosFollow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.

~ Matthew 4:19 ~

In his book The Uttermost Star, F. W. Boreham quoted a rhyme that gives four tips on how to catch fish.

Be sure your face is toward the light;

Study the fish’s curious ways;

Then keep yourself well out of sight,

And cherish patience all your days.

Boreham then applied the poem, line by line, to a Christian fishing for men.

He wrote, “Be sure your face is toward the light. The skillful angler will always be careful to see that the sun shines upon his face and that his shadows falls behind him…The only man who can hopefully angle for fish or for [people] is he of the radiant face, he of the shadow unseen!

Study the fish’s curious ways. Let no man think that he can become a successful angler by learning all about lines and hooks and rods and reels! He must study fish. He must know the things that please them, the things that repel them…He who would catch men must understand men!

Then keep yourself well out of sight. No man ever yet secured large catches, either of fish or men, who was fond of thrusting himself into inordinate prominence!

And cherish patience all your days. There will be times when you will have to wait for long, long periods without so much as a nibble; and you will be tempted to give it all up!…[but he who is patient] will enjoy the unspeakable rapture of the fisherman’s triumph at the last!”

Let’s go fishing!                                                                                                                    -R. W. D.

Rescue the perishing, duty demands it –

Strength for your labor the Lord will provide;

Back to the narrow way patiently win them,

Tell the poor wanderer a Savior has died.

– Crosby

Mend your nets with prayer, cast them in faith, and draw them with love.
